Ese’s Weekly Shoot and Quote Challenge: Memories

“It’s surprising how much memory is built around things unnoticed at the time.”

~Barbara Kingsolver

St. John's River
This scene from behind my cousin’s home on the St. John’s River in Florida brings back sweet memories of family Thanksgivings spent together in years past.

Your image gives a metaphoric, poetic response to the prompt “memories” . . . like the opening line to a song about memories.

    1. Yes, it does. And that particular group of relatives who gathered for Thanksgiving the year that photo was taken may not all be able to be in one place together again.

Beautiful photo and so is the quote. Yes, so often unnoticed but with time turns out to be important, part of something special and precious.
PS: I am sorry there was no challenge last Sunday. I have been on the road constanty for almost 2 weeks but I promise the challenge will be back this weekend again.

    1. Thank you. No problem with the challenge. I wouldn’t have been able to submit anything anyway. My mother was very ill and in hospital, and I have been traveling nearly every day to be with her. She is home now, but I continued to travel back and forth for a few days to help out.
