A Surprising Pale Iridescence

In the aftermath of yesterday’s ice storm I went outside to take a few photos and was quite surprised when I viewed them just now.  In two of the photos there are lovely iridescent colors, pale yet quite distinguishable, that I never saw while I was outside.  A trick of the light?  Something strange in my camera settings?  I don’t know.  Here are the photos, and neither has been edited in any way whatsoever (except for the addition of my watermark).

Iridescent purple and green
Can you see the purple around the needles of the Leland Cypress? And the light green around the small branches?

Iridescent pink
Can you see the pink around the branches of the Crape Myrtle?

The colors were a lovely surprise.  Does anyone have an explanation for them?
