If I had a choice, I wouldn’t shop at Walmart.  I’d much prefer to buy what I need from locally-owned stores, but when no other stores near us carry what I need, and the options are a 15-minute drive to Walmart or an hour’s drive to a larger town, I go to Walmart.

And the view from our Walmart is terrific!

As I was standing in the middle of the parking lot taking these photos (as I’d threatened to do many times), a Walmart employee approached me and remarked that many people take photos from that exact vantage point.  Last week, even visitors from Germany took photos, she said.

We discussed how those of us who live here often take our beautiful surroundings for granted.  I guess that’s true of so many people everywhere. Do you ever take the beauty around you for granted?
