Peace Music on Monday: Shalom

Sharing this week’s song of peace for our world:

I first heard the song Shalom on a Canadian French-language radio station which I get on satellite radio in my car.  Sung by Julie Rousseau, the song was included in an album entitled emergences 2 recorded at a gathering at the Quebec Seminary a few years ago.  Otherwise, I know nothing about the artist, the songwriter, or the song itself.  If you listen to the song, you will hear several languages. Many of the lines are in English.  Lyrics are not available online, and my French is too rusty for me to provide a translation, but the message still rings out loudly and clearly.

If you know more about this song or about Julie Rousseau, please let me know.

Music is the universal language of mankind.

My faith calls me to work for peace and justice and to accept and love all people.  In a world that seems to be so full of hatred, I must do all I can to pursue justice and peace in my own little corner of the globe.
