Sharing this week’s song of peace for our world:
The song Love Is All is not well known here in the U.S. It was written in 1974 for a concept album and subsequent live rock opera called The Butterfly Ball and the Grasshopper’s Feast based on a children’s book of the same title. The show was produced by British songwriter and musician Roger Glover who also wrote or co-wrote all of the songs. Glover is best known as the bassist for the hard rock band Deep Purple.
This version of Love Is All was produced by Playing for Change, a multimedia music project that seeks to inspire, connect, and bring peace to the world through music. The video features young singers and musicians from the U.S., Uganda, France, and India.
love is all by playing for change
Everybody’s got to live together
All the people got to understand
Love your neighbour
Like you love your brother
Come on and join the band.
All you need is love and understanding
Ring the bell and let the people know
We’re so happy and we’re celebrating
Let your feelings show.
Love is all you need, love is all you need
Love is all you need.
Love is all you need, love is all you need
Love is all you need.
Makes you happy that we’re all together
At the ball in nature’s countryside
And although we’re wearing different faces
Nobody wants to hide.
Love is all you need, love is all you need
Love is all you need.
Love is all you need, love is all you need
Love is all you need.
All you need is love and understanding
Ring the bell and let the people know
So love your neighbor
Like you love your brother,
Let your feelings show.
Love is all you need, love is all you need
Love is all you need.
Love is all you need, love is all you need
Love is all you need…
Music is the universal language of mankind.
My faith calls me to work for peace and justice and to accept and love all people. In a world that seems to be so full of hatred, I must do all I can to pursue justice and peace in my own little corner of the globe.
