But it snowed for several hours. Students were released from school early. Classes at the night school where I teach were cancelled.

Unexpected in common hours 
I am so jealous!
My favorite picture is the one with pine boughs to the left and a small hardwood tree behind them (it looks like a dogwood to me).
I read this in my email first, and every picture appeared full size there, whereas in the gallery some are smaller. I am glad I saw large versions of all of them!

Thank you! The pine boughs are actually a Leyland cypress, and the small tree that looks like a dogwood is a Japanese maple. All of this snow was gone by mid-morning today.
