Unexpected in common hours 
I can’t imagine azaleas growing wild! It sounds beautiful. Up here we have to work hard to get them to grow in our gardens!

These flame azaleas technically are a type of rhododendron, but yes, they grow wild and are beautiful. The one outside my kitchen window is in full bloom, and others in the woods behind our house are just beginning to bloom. For some reason, the regular azaleas in our garden are blooming in abundance this year, too.

I used to go walking with my mother-in-law to see the flame azaleas up in the Cumberland Mts in TN. Beautiful bushes – after seeing them the fancy azaleas look sort of overblown.
I live in CA now with different wild plants but I learned to love the spare beauty of wild flowers in Appalachia.
