During the winter the American beech tree can easily be spotted in wooded areas, as its leaves do not drop.  The leaves turn brown but linger until Spring.  As new leaves begin to sprout, the old ones fall to the ground.  If our warm weather continues, it won’t be long before these leaves fall…
