When we moved here over twenty years ago there were gladioli blooming in the flower bed by the side of the garage. Over the years we’ve removed a number of the plants and tried to grow other flowers, but the gladioli keep coming up.
Two days ago, while checking on things after another torrential rain storm, I found a single gladiolus stalk flat on the ground. It was the first to bloom this season, and apart from being knocked down, was not damaged by the storm. I put it in a bud vase, and took some photos before bringing it inside the house to grace my kitchen.

Beautiful Glads 😀 😀
