It’s a little out of season, but this is the only song I could think of that fits this week’s song lyrics challenge and includes the word plan.
“I’ll Be Home For Christmas” was first recorded by Bing Crosby in 1943. Written by Kim Gannon, Walter Kent and Buck Ram, it expresses the desire of a World War II soldier to be home at Christmastime, if only in his dreams. In the U.S., Crosby was said to have “accomplished more for military morale than anyone else of that era,” but ironically, the BBC banned the song from being broadcast for fear it would lower the morale of British soldiers. Today, it is a Christmas standard.

“I’ll be home for Christmas
You can plan on me
Please have snow and mistletoe
And presents on the tree
Christmas Eve will find me
Where the lovelight gleams
I’ll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams”I’ll be home for Christmas
You can plan on me
Please have snow and mistletoe
And presents on the tree
Christmas Eve will find me
Where the lovelight gleams
I’ll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams”

Yes, it is! I know this song has been recorded by many people, but Bing Crosby’s recording is my absolute favorite.

I suppose it’s OK to post a Christmas song in August… LOL; although, I’m one of those people who gets upset when I see Christmas lights in November. Everything has a season, right? 🙂 I do love this song, though, and Bing Crosby has a fantastic voice. Thanks so much for sharing and for playing along!

Thank you for hosting this challenge! By the way, one of my blogger friends who lives in the Philippines says that they begin playing Christmas songs on the radio there in September! I prefer waiting until late November for all things Christmas.
