Roald Dahl (13 September 1916 – 23 November 1990) is remembered as one of the greatest storytellers for children in the 20th century.  He was born of Norwegian parents in Wales and became a writer of books for both children and adults,  a short story writer, poet, and screenwriter.

Dahl’s works for children include James and the Giant PeachCharlie and the Chocolate FactoryMatildaThe WitchesFantastic Mr FoxThe BFGThe Twits and George’s Marvellous Medicine.

His books have sold more than 250 million copies worldwide.
