My amazing dad recently celebrated his 90th birthday, and so far he has had at least four birthday gatherings.
Ever since my mother passed away, Dad has been involved in a grief support group, and that group honored him with cake and candy at one of their regular meetings . He also participates in a group of senior citizens who take a bus trip once a month. That group let him choose the September destination, and he chose an all-day trip to his favorite museum. We are very grateful that he has remained active at 90 years old and still is in very good physical health.
Our family honored him with two dinners and two birthday cakes because not everyone could be here for the first dinner, so of course we had to have another one. And who knows? There may be another celebration to come!
Dad still lives in the house in which I and my brother and sister grew up, about 30 miles from where my husband and I live now. My sister lives with him and keeps him out of trouble. 🙂 He just renewed his driver’s license and, as a former U.S. Army paratrooper at the end of World War II, is very proud of his also-new license plate (or “car tag” as it’s known in the South) that identifies him as a World War II veteran.

I did. I was able to show him on the TV. He watched it once at regular speed, and then we watched again frame by frame so he could look at each photo as long as he wanted. He loved it!

Yes, many people are surprised to find out his age. He looks younger than he is.
