“Give Me Just a Little More Time” was released in 1970 as the debut single of the group Chairmen of the Board. Written by Brian Holland, Lamont Dozier, Edward Holland, Jr., and Ron Dunbar, the song peaked at Number 3 in both the U.S. and the U.K. Because of a pending lawsuit filed by Motown against the songwriting team of Holland-Dozier-Holland, they wrote the song under the pseudonym Edythe Wayne, and many websites show the songwriters as Edythe Wayne and Ron Dunbar.
In 1982, American R & B singer Angela Clemmons released a remade version of the song, and in 1992, Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue’s recording was used in a commercial for watches.
It’s another one of my favorites, and all three versions are wonderful, but showing my age again, I truly love the original version by the Chairmen of the Board.
