Our neighbors at the end of the lane moved out several weeks ago. We had no idea they were going, and now the house sits empty and rather forlorn. It doesn’t appear to be on the market for sale or for rent, and the grass has grown quite high in spite of the lack of rain here. But the flowers are blooming and are lovely.
I walked over to take some photos but couldn’t get very close because of the tall grass through which I did not want to walk. My loyal readers will remember that I have a great fear of snakes and have had several unfortunate encounters with the same. Nevertheless, I did get a few photos…

The flowers are definitely still flourishing in the absence of the gardeners. Poignant reminder that earth will be just fine if humans were to disappear in a flash.

That is so true. And the neighbors left potted plants there when they moved away, and even with no rain the potted plants are still growing.

Abandoned, yet thriving. Lovely photos. 🙂

Don’t you wish they had asked you if you wanted the plants? I’m not much of a gardener, but even I would adopt plants someone couldn’t take with them.

Yes, I do. But they moved out without so much as a fare-thee-well. They were a nice couple with a little girl but were never very friendly or neighborly.
