A Rough Week

Last week was a rough one, but it ended with a lovely weekend.

A dentist visit for a bad toothache revealed nothing wrong with my tooth, just a bad situation in my sinuses. That was good news about the tooth, as I had feared the need for a root canal. But I had a bad reaction to the antibiotic the dentist prescribed for the sinus condition, a reaction that is just now tapering off even though I stopped taking the antibiotic. And I had a severe migraine that lasted two days. I felt terrible all week.

Then a visit to the emergency room with my husband for what turned out to be a kidney stone. He was given an anti-inflammatory and was told to drink lots of fluids. But of course, he won’t drink a lot of fluids. He thinks drinking two sips is a lot.

But then grandson Ben and his mom and dad came to visit for the weekend, and we had a lovely time together. We were joined by my father who recently turned 91 years old and by my sister.

Ben had a good time with his great-grandfather…

So, I haven’t been able to read posts from bloggers I follow or to participate in any challenges or to post anything myself, and I may never get caught up, but I’m feeling better now. I’m glad to be back.

  2. I can only take certain kind of antibiotics and am allergic to some. I hope your husband will drink more water on a regular basis. Great photo of your father and his grandson. 🙂

      1. Good thing you find out early. I took one high blood pressure medication for 9 months before the allergic reaction that put me in the hospital for 3 days!

  3. Sometimes whole weeks are lost like that, but it is good to come out on the other side, and jump into regular routine again. I hope you and your husband continue to improve.

  4. all’s well that ends well as the Bard says and that inter generational photo speaks volumes. I can empathise with your husband as I mostly desist from cold water drinks but of course I understand his situation is somewhat different.

    1. Unfortunately, my husband is almost always somewhat dehydrated, according to the doctor. He doesn’t want to drink much of anything, cold drinks, hot drinks, room temperature drinks…
