
Frederick Buechner (born July 11, 1926) is an American novelist, poet, essayist, and theologian. An ordained Presbyterian minister, he is the author of over 30 books which have been translated into many languages. Buechner is best known for the novels A Long Day’s Dying, The Book of Bebb, Godric, and Brendan, his memoirs, and his theological works Secrets in the Dark, The Magnificent Defeat, and Telling the Truth.
