While my 91-year-old dad is sheltering in place with my sister about 30 miles away, his mountain cabin is sitting empty. A trusted neighbor keeps his eye on the property, but because we live only about a 15-to-20-minute drive from the cabin, we decided to take a little trip over just to check on things. Other than going out to get groceries and prescriptions, this was our first excursion anywhere in several weeks.
It was a lovely drive on a warm, sunny day, and all was well at the cabin, inside and out. Dad’s rhododendrons were particularly glorious. I didn’t have my camera with me, so the photos don’t do them justice…

Thank you! We drove straight there and straight home again and didn’t even see another living soul.

So beautiful – great to see the rhododendrons – ours flower here in November, of course 🙂 All the best to your dad.

Thank you! I lived in Australia for a year, a long time ago, and remember well the seasons being opposite ours here.
