“Grief makes you feel like you’re going crazy,” or so says the author of a blog post on the website whatsyourgrief.com. And the added stress of helping care for an elderly parent, mixed with grief over losing one’s spouse, can amplify the craziness. So I need my “pockets of joy,” like this soft-focus view from my front porch during the golden hour of a recent late afternoon.

I love the term “pocket of joy.” I first heard it on a Netflix reality show when one of the main stars, speaking of his difficult growing-up years, also spoke of the pockets of joy that sustained him through those difficult times.
My wish for you, Deb, is that those pockets of joy will multiply with every day.

Oh, thank you for those kind words. I’ve been having a difficult time and am trying to look for pockets of joy.
