Always one of my favorites, the sweetshrub also is known as Carolina allspice, strawberry-bush, sweet bubby, sweet Betsy and spicebush.

These bushes were endemic in Waycross, GA when I was growing up. I sometimes see them growing wild in the Georgia Mountains.

    1. We had them on our property when I was growing up in Gainesville. I have three bushes growing wild here on my property in White County.
