Brilliant colors on the Red Maple this year

Unexpected in common hours 
I live very close to you, but there is very little to no color on my maples right now. That goes for both the Sugar and Red Maples.

The maple tree in my front yard began turning red in August! The progression was slow, and now there still are green leaves with no color. The copperheads love the areas where the maple leaves fall. My son-in-law had a close encounter with one the other night. Ugh!
