This pretty flowering shrub is in the hedge between my father’s property and his neighbor’s. I don’t remember ever seeing it before and cannot identify it. Does anyone know what it is?
Joye, it may be a variety of Bridal Wreath Spirea, although it’s different from the Bridal Wreath Spirea that I’m used to seeing. These flowers are really small.
I have noticed that vine too. At a distance, it looked like honey suckle, but the blooms do not have the “trumpet” shape of honey suckle. One is most likely to see it along edges of formerly cultivated fields.
Deb, maybe the plant identification website could help. Is it a wild rose? It reminds me of Seven Sisters’ that mother gave me years ago.

There’s an app for identifying things like this, where you just hold up your phone to it.. son had it d/l or a while and it seemed quite accurate.

Thank you. I guess I should try that.

A naturalist friend of mine said it’s Bridal Wreath Spirea, but it’s very different from what I knew to be Bridal Wreath Spirea. So, who knows?
