Guarding his property

My neighbors’ rooster

Many of us who aren’t farmers or gardeners still have some element of farm nostalgia in our family past, real or imagined: a secret longing for some connection to a life where a rooster crows in the yard.”Β  (Barbara Kingsolver)

    1. I was walking down the lane in front of the neighbors’ house, and that rooster frightened me. I thought he was going to come after me.

        1. LOL I recently read a book in which a rooster killed a man, so I’m a little skittish right now.

  2. He is beautiful!
I have had chickens on and off for about the last 12 years — sometimes I have a rooster, but most of the time, just hens. The roosters are gorgeous, but the hens seem calmer without one around. πŸ™‚

Sorry, Deb, I couldn’t help myself.
In my primary school days I had chickens for pets, and this lovely rooster reminds me very much of my own!
