My friend asked me to care for her Amaryllis plants while she was away during December. They had been outside in pots, but I brought them home and put them upstairs where they would get plenty of sunlight. (I live in the woods, and the main floor of my house doesn’t get direct sunlight.)
Sadly, however, my friend won’t get to see them bloom this year. While she was away she had a medical emergency and had to undergo neurosurgery. Her plans to return to Georgia from Colorado by early January fell through, and she remains in Colorado, so I had to send her this photo of one of the Amaryllis in bloom.

Thank you, Charlotte. She is recovering, but her doctors still will not allow her to travel. So she remains almost 2,000 miles away on the other side of the U.S.
