Nothing screams “Spring” quite like a Forsythia. This one is in my neighbor’s front yard, and I photographed it from a distance. It always reminds me of a sunburst.
It’s beautiful. On the other hand, I was in east Texas today, and when I saw the azaleas there — oh, my. They weren’t the cute little ‘ bushes at the front door ‘ that are common in Houston. They were huge bushes tucked into large, woody properties. They surely would have looked good in tandem with your forsythia.

I have huge azaleas on my property, but they won’t bloom here until later. The forsythia always comes first and the azaleas follow.
