Beautiful while they lasted…

Clobbered but coming back

About a year and a half ago we had a dead tree removed, and when it fell it clobbered one of our rose bushes. (If you’re not familiar with the word clobbered, it means the rose bush was hit hard and severely battered.) Last year there were no blooms, and we were worried that the rose bush was damaged…

Now blooming in my corner of North Georgia: Mimosa & Magnolia

Two of my favorite trees are now blooming in Northeast Georgia: the Southern Magnolia which is native to the area and the Mimosa which was introduced from China in the 18th century.
